Culture VR - L’île des morts

L’île des morts

about

Isle of the Dead is a timeless journey, starting from an everyday apartmenttowards our final destination, guided by Charon, ferryman of the Underwor-ld.

This VR experience is a loose recreation of the eponymous work painted in 1883 by the Swiss symbolist painter Arnold Böcklin.

The famous masterpiece also inspired a symphonic poem by Rachmaninov, which makes a perfect soundtrack to accompany the experience.

This film is part of the VR Selection of the Institut français, which offers members of France’s overseas cultural network (the cultural services of French embassies, Instituts français and Alliances Françaises) a selection of French virtual reality contents for non-commercial use, within their venues or those of their partners.
