Why did 200 children invade a medieval town in a painting by Bruegel the Elder ?
This immersive experience is available onsite since May 2018 in a specially equipped room with around thirty VR headsets, Oculus Rift type. The spectator, seated on virtual terraces, enjoys a field of vision of 360° on Aurasio’s city and the theater that rises before his eyes on his own scale, stone by stone.
An immersive and entertaining experience, the 3D film lets the spectator take a step back in time to discover the best-preserved theatre in Europe, an exceptional evidence of Ancient Roma and a UNESCO world heritage site. Culturespaces missioned Art Graphique & Patrimoine to reconstitute the entire monument as it was during Antiquity.
This work was led in close collaboration with the CIREVE of Caen, a scientific center composed of searchers, historians, and antique architecture specialists. The VR installation and its innovative dimension have been highly successful (with a catch rate of approximately 30%) and contribute to the cultural enhancement of Orange’s site and territory.
