Culture VR - Das Totale Tanz Theater 360

Das Totale Tanz Theater 360

The whole theatre should be a stage ! Bauhaus artists dreamed of a theatre that would liberate its audiences from their passivity and place them at the centre of the action in an imaginary world.
Das Totale Tanz Theater makes the Bauhaus dream of “total theatre” a reality in this anniversary year, lets body and space blend together and brings Walter Gropius’ and Oskar Schlemmer’s stage experiment into the digital age using virtual reality.

An immersive dance video with choreography by Richard Siegal and music by the band “Einstürzende Neubauten”, which is also available in the ARTE 360° app since 17th January.
The 360° video is based on the interactive, three-dimensional, VR dance experience of the same name being staged as part of the opening festival at the Berlin Akademie der Künste from 16th to 24th January 2019.

Das Totale Tanz Theater 360 is an Interactive Media Foundation and Filmtank project, in cooperation with ZDF in collaboration with ARTE, and was created within the scope of the Bauhaus Spirit project.

Das Totale Tanz Theater 360 is based on the three-dimensional VR installation Das Totale Tanz Theater, an Interactive Media Foundation and Filmtank project co-created with Artificial Rome and funded by the Bauhaus heute Fund of the German Federal Cultural Foundation and Medienboard Berlin Brandenburg.
