For thirty years, we have lost an average of one hour of sleep a night, and accumulate colossal debts of fatigue. However, sleep is a physiological need essential to the human being. We sleep to live, work, entertain, discover, invent… In the near future, the start-up Dreamr decides to develop a headset to recover a night’s sleep in just thirty minutes. Thanks to VR (Virtual Reality) technology, this headset creates a dream that immerses the user into an artificial sleep. To evaluate the efficiency of this tool, the company will test its limits on a patient-test, Noe.
24/7 is made up of several steps, and the spectators will cross these different narrative and immersive levels in two different versions. Before entering the room, spectators are invited to complete a form about the place of sleep in their lives. They are also trained to use the VR device (tests, main comfort settings) so that they are as autonomous as possible and comfortable with the tool when getting ready during the performance.
